Come to Camp
We would love to welcome you into our diverse, dedicated group of grassroots activists who are committed to working together to protect the last stands of ancient rainforests on Pacheedaht territory.
This is a great time to come to camp—spring is underway and we could use help with a wide variety of tasks! If you’d like to join us, please read our Code of Conduct and send an email introducing yourself to fairycreekintake@protonmail.com. Things we’d appreciate you mentioning in the introductory email:
- Why you are interested in coming?
- Have you been to camp before? (if so, your past camp name and camp names of people who know you can be helpful to include)
- What skills do you have to offer?
- When do you want to come, and how long do you intend to stay?
Support from a Distance
Even if coming to camp is not for you, if you care about the ancient forests there are many things you can do to help from afar. The blockade would not be possible without our dedicated teams of offsite volunteers who run the supply chain, provide legal aid, fundraise, and more. If you have time to spare for this cause, please reach out to fairycreekintake@protonmail.com and let us know what skills you have to offer!
Independent Solidarity Actions
You don’t need to coordinate with us or formally join any working groups to take action for ancient forests—there are many ways you can take action on your own, or organise something in your own community. Here’s a list of ideas to get you started:
- Call your MLA
- Call BC Premier John Horgan and Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resources Operations and Rural Development Katrine Conroy
- Write a letters to your local newspaper
- Call in to your local radio station
- Make banners and signs
- Stage a demonstration in your community, at local government offices or other locations
- Hang a banner from an overpass at rush hour
- Create a fundraiser for our legal defense fund
- Share information widely through social media
- Find ways to bring what we’re doing to the public at large, not just like-minded folks
